What's On Your Nightstand? February 26, 2013

This is a monthly meme hosted by 5 Minutes for Books. You just make a list of books that you’d like to read this month, or hope to read this month, or books that you’ve recently finished and are moving off your nightstand. I have not participated in an embarrassing long time. lol The site is www.5minutesforbooks.com

What I am currently or about to be reading:

1. The Moviegoer by Walker Percy (so far okay on chapter 3)
2. Nutrition and Physical Degeneration by Weston Price
3. The Amen Solution by Dr. Daniel Amen (about half way and it is good)
4. Moonlight Masquerade by Ruth Axtell
5. The Last Lion Winston Churchill by William Manchester (biography) (the only reason I am attempting this book is because of 64 year old PT named Sam at work. lol I told him I would give this author a try just for him. He is trying to convert me into liking biographies. )

What's On Your Nightstand? July 26, 2011

What's On Your Nightstand is a monthly meme hosted by 5 Minutes for Books. It is held on the fourth Tuesday of every month. http://www.5minutesforbooks.com/

I keep my immediate TBR on my dresser and desk. I have books on my nightstand too but I hardly touch them. The first picture is my stack of library books I want to read. The second picture is of my review books that do not have a specific tour date. The last picture is of my review books that have due date on them. I have been purging books but I still have a huge waiting TBR. I have so many books I want to read and so little time it seems. I am considering giving up on all reading challenges and most goals for the year. I need less stress and I really want to enjoy reading again. I also want to read more of what catches my eye and not focus on a certain number. I have no idea what next year holds but for right now I need to simplify. I love reading and book reviewing and I can't see giving it up.

What's On Your Nightstand?

This is a monthly meme hosted by 5 Minutes for Books.
http://www.5minutesforbooks.com/

It is for the fourth Tuesday of every month. Mine is late because I could not get my pictures to upload. I should call mine dresser and desk instead of nightstand. lol That is where I keep my immediate tbr books. I have not posted in a few months. I am still having trouble focusing and sometimes I don't even finish one book a week. Right now my main focus is getting my review books read. I have cut back on how many tours I am doing. I have also been purging my bookshelves. I have way too many books and a lot of them I have not read but I want too. So I am reading what I can when I can and sometimes that is all you can do. :)

What's On Your Nightstand March Edition

What's On Your Nightstand is a monthly meme hosted by 5 Minutes for Books on the fourth Tuesday of every month. http://www.5minutesforbooks.com/ I skipped last month because I was so overwhelmed. Since then I have cleaned up my bookshelves and my TBR. The first picture is my review book pile. The second picture is my Steeple Hill Love Inspired book pile. The third picture is more Steeple Hill books. The last picture is mostly my library book pile. I start online classes on April 4 so it was important to me to get everthing organized. I am still going to try and read one book per week. I joined The Spring Reading Thing challenge this week. Here is the link to my post:

Hopefully it will help keep me on track. :)

What's On Your Nightstand? January 25, 2011

What's On Your Nightstand is a monthly meme hosted by 5 Minutes for Books on the fourth Tuesday of every month. http://www.5minutesforbooks.com/

It seems like every month I say how overwhelmed I am and this month is no different. The first picture are my review books. The others are mostly Steeple Hill books and the last picture are books I have from the library. I actually have more books in TBR that are not pictured. One of my goals for this year is balance. I have cut back on the number of review books I accept and I am trying to read at least one book from my old TBR every month. I am also buying a lot less especially the Steeple Hill lines. Its just too much and I love being a book reviewer. Last year I had a major reading slump and every time I try to read large amounts of books I get depressed so I am being more careful in what I read.  I am also possibly going back to school and taking a lot of Internet classes staring in April so I will have to change most of my habits. Getting fit and healthy has to remain a priority so working out takes a lot of my time.  I joined a lot of reading challenges and my goal is still 250 for the year. The first month is almost over and I have finished 12 books. Whew! I am trying to read a little every night so off to get ready for tomorrow and read a little. :)

What's On Your Nightstand? December 28, 2010

I have a lot of books I want to read all at the same time. This is not even all of my TBR or what I am attempting to read. Yikes! I have not participated in this meme in months because I am so overwhelmed. The first picture are review books. The second stack and third stack are mostly my Steeple Hill books I want to read. The last picture are books from the library I want to read. The Winter Sea was recommended to me by Nancy at Bookfoolery and Babble and I can't wait to read it. I am also really looking forward to reading The Girl in the Gatehouse. I have been in a huge reading slump for the past couple months. I am hoping I can focus in the new year and get some books read. :)

What's On Your Nightstand? September 29, 2010

This is meme hosted by 5 Minutes for Books. It happens on the fourth Tuesday of every month. This was supposed to be up yesterday but I had problems finding the cord that connects the camera to the computer. The stacks are really big this month. I have a lot of review books which are the third picture. I am doing quite a few reading challenges including the Maud Hart Lovelace that starts on October 1. I have not had as much time to read during the week because I get distracted by the Internet and TV which I hope to work on soon. I have also been staying later at work to exercise. I lost 17 lbs and I really want to keep it off. The second picture are the Steeple Hill books I read for fun and it has grown also. The 24 hour read a thon is coming up not this weekend but next so hopefully I can get a lot read. All the books look really good and I can't wait to read them. :)

What's On Your Nightstand? August 24, 2010

This is a monthly meme hosted by 5 Minutes for Books. It is on the fourth Tuesday of every month. The first book picture is my stack of Steeple Hill books. It grows bigger than I read from it. Help! The last picture is of my current review books and The Brothers K which I am attempting to do a read a long for. It is not going so well. lol I really want to do the Bleak House by Charles Dickens read a long but it overlaps with The Brothers K and I am already behind so we'll see. :)

Heavens to Betsy! I am definitely still feeling overwhelmed. I want to read everything! The first picture is of the library books I have checked out right now. The second stack is the Steeple Hill books. The third picture is of the books I need to read and review. I have more books on my TBR but these three stacks are the organized. lol I am currently reading Crazy Love by Frances Chan and it is really good. I am feeling very convicted. I am also reading The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake which I hope to finish tonight. I am going to the beach on August 18 for four days so I will be taking a lot of books with me. :)

What's On Your Nightstand? May 25, 2010

This is a monthly meme hosted by 5 Minutes for Books.

http://www.5minutesforbooks.com/

I like using pictures because it really is worth a thousand words in this instance. I am feeling very overwhelmed as you can see by the amount of books in the pictures. I did not even picture the library books I have out now. Thank God I am off work all next week. The first picture is all the Love Inspired/Mystery books on my TBR. The second is my upcoming review books and a few of my other TBR. I also have a few shelves of TBR. They are books I bought and have not read and from paperbackswap. So little time so many potential great books. I am looking forward to reading a few more classics coming up also. I hope everyone has a great reading month. :)

What's On Your Nightstand? Tuesday February 23, 2010

I love pictures for this carnival. I think they show better than me typing tons of titles. The first picture has my library books currently checked out. The second picture is all the Love Inspired (Steeple Hill) books on my TBR. The last picture are my books I am reading for review and that stack probably changed the most from last time. I have read 52 books so far this year. I desperately need to do my January wrap up post. I look forward to seeing what everyone else is reading ... more books to add to my list. :)

Go here if you would like to participate:

What's On Your Nightstand? January 26, 2010

I love this meme from 5 Minutes for Books.
http://www.5minutesforbooks.com/
The goal is for others to see what you are reading/going to be reading. I love visiting everyone's blog and seeing their lists/pictures. I choose pictures because I have a large TBR and its easier to see them. One stack is my library books I have checked out. It is not too bad right now. One stack is all the Love Inspired books I need to read. I had it somewhat read down before the end of the year but it is now out of control again. I need to read one a night to get it back under control. lol They are short, fast, easy, usually good books. The other two stacks are books sent to me to read and review. I am so excited about them. I can't wait to read them. :)

What's On Your Nightstand? December 22,2009 Edition

What's On Your Nightstand is hosted by 5 Minutes for Books on the fourth Tuesday every month. It is one of my favorite things I do every month. Last month I read several of the Steeple Hill books off my list which is a big relief although I still have a lot left. They publish around 12 per month but I do not buy all of them I promise. :) This month I am trying to finish reading challenges and get ready for January blog tours. The picture with books starting with the Silent Governess are January book tours. The picture with books in two stacks are my current Steeple Hills. The picture in front of my stereo are ones for reading challenges ending very soon. I have lots of reading to do. :)
