My Review:
This is the third book in the Raleigh Harmon series. I have read the first two and anticipated this one greatly. It definitely lived up to my expectations. Even though the subject matter is harsher in this book the writing is the best so far. I loved her beautiful descriptions and her overall use of words was amazing. It held my attention from page one. Raleigh has returned to Richmond, VA, home. Things are not going that well at work and home. She is tagged to work a cross burning at a local plantation that has been bought by a big time black rapper. Things are not always what they seem though. At home her mother seems to be losing touch with reality and their house guest is acting weird.
There were several twists and turns and surprises in this book. It is hard to describe as the plot has several lines that cross.
Added to everything else her old friend DeMott starts hanging around again. The ending is great and wraps up the loose ends of the mystery/suspense part but not her personal life. I can't wait to read the next book in this series. Highly Recommended.
