May Reads in Review

For the month of May I read 25 books. Two were rereads and one was a nonfiction book. My absolute favorites are in bold. The ones with stars are going on my top 10 for the year. I liked most of what I read though. The only book I do not recommend is Ruby Unscripted. The nonfiction book was The Lost City of Z by David Grann and I thought it was okay. Here is the link to my review of it: http://abookloverforever.blogspot.com/2009/05/lost-city-of-z-by-david-grann.html

Overall a good month. This month (June) I am particpating in a 30 books in 30 days reading challenge hosted by Shauna at Readings and Ruminations. I am right on track for it. Hopefully I can keep my momentum going and finish. :)

Did you post a formal review of Ruby Unscripted? I haven't gotten around to reading that one yet but I'm getting a little paranoid since I've read multiple reviews that basically couldn't stand it. Just wondering if you'd done a formal review that I can't recall... (Bad Ruth! LOL!)

Once again, I'm in awe. I've got several of those books on my stacks (Lost City of Z, City of the Dead, Gold of Kings). I don't think I'm going to live long enough to read everything I own.

I haven't read a Karen Young book in a long time. Do you know she used to live in the Jackson area? I don't know where she is, now, since I haven't picked up one of her books in a while. She's a good speaker and very sweet.

Wow, you're an amazingly fast reader! Those are some great stats for one month. Congrats!

Wow, 25 books in one month. There was a time when I read that much. Now, writing books of my own, working from home and caring for a newborn baby girl has me rather busy. :)

I'm honored that one of my books made it to your list for May. Thanks for selecting it and listing it here. Every little bit of promotion helps.

Best wishes on the 30 books in 30 days for June. Day 23 today and hope you're at book #23. Keep up the great work!
