Did you finish reading all the books on your fall reading list? If not, why not?
No, I fell into a reading slump and I lost interest in reading some of them. I read 41 total books.

Did you stick to your original goals or did you change your list as you went along?
I changed my list as I went along.

What was your favorite book that you read this fall? Least favorite? Why?
My favorites include The Silent Order by Melanie Dobson and Emily of Deep Valley by Maud Hart Lovelace. My least favorites were Gingerbread Cookie Murder by Joanne Fluke and Dark Road to Dareeling by Deanna Raybourn.

Did you discover a new author or genre this fall? Did you love them? Not love them?
Melanie Dobson was a new author for me and I loved her book.

Did you learn something new because of Fall Into Reading 2010 – something about reading, about yourself, or about a topic you read about?
I confirmed that novellas are not my favorite. I like more development in the story.

What was your favorite thing about the challenge?
I love the weekly questions even though I did not participate in all of them.

Thank you Katrina at Callapidder Days.

The Huge TBR Readathon Wrap Up Post

I enjoyed this readathon. I did not keep up with how many hours but I did read some every day which was my ultimate goal. I am hoping to keep that up. I have gotten in the trend of not really reading during the week but reading a lot on the weekends mostly because of work, TV, and the Internet. I look forward to participating in this again. :)

Clear Away the Clutter Challenge Wrap Up

Kate at the Neverending Shelf is hosting this challenge:
http://www.theneverendingshelf.com/2010/01/clear-clutter-mini-challenge.html

Your goal is read as many titles as you can and pass along those that you do not absolutely want to keep. The mini challenge begins March 1st and ends May 31st. I am signing up for the level Organizer: Read and clean out 15 titles.

I did not complete this challenge. Achk. I have read a lot of good books in the past three months. I have gotten rid of some but I did not read most of them in this time period. So I say the challenge was not a complete failure because it did get me to doing something about all the books I have that are not absolute keepers. I listed some on PBS and already 9 have been requested from me. :)

A-Z Challenge 2009 Wrap Up Post

I completed this challenge two times author and titles A-Z but 2009 it just didn't happen. I am definitely upset with myself but I could not find books I liked/wanted to read for the hard letters. I have been debating whether to join for 2010 but I think I am going to focus on other challenges. I had fun but I need a break from this one. :)

Science Reading Challenge 2009 Wrap Up Post

I read 2/3 books and none were on my original list so technically this challenge is a failure.
Here is the link to my original post:
http://abookloverforever.blogspot.com/2009/01/science-book-challenge-2009.html

I enjoyed both books I read greatly so I am counting it as a success personally. The challenge calls for reading nonfiction only but I would like to mention a fiction book I read called the Housekeeper and the Professor by Yoko Ogawa which has a lot of math in it which they count as part of science. I highly recommend it as it is one of my favorites for 2009. I read Gardening Eden by Michael Abbate and This is Your Brain on Joy by Dr. Earl Henslin as nonfiction for this challenge. I loved both of them. I will be signing up for the Science Challenge 2010 and hopefully will do better. :)

Here is the link to my post on Gardening Eden which I forgot to update but I did love the book:

Here is the link to my post on This Is Your Brain on Joy by Dr. Earl Henslin which has a full review:

Fall Into Reading 2009 Wrap Up Post

I can't believe its over already. This is one of my favorite reading challenges. I really didn't stick to my list very well this time though. I am going to link to my original list and below is a list of what I actually read. I think I read about 25 off of my original list. Overall I read 71 books. I am putting some of my favorites in bold. I enjoyed most of what I read. The only one I really did not like was Cricket on the Hearth. It did not make a lot of sense to me. Paper Towns and Her Fearful Symmetry were a little disturbing. I had a lot of fun and I look forward to participating again next year. :)

Chunkster Challenge 2009 Wrap Up Post

It came down to the wire and I was not sure I would finish but it is done. :)

I signed up for the
*Mor-book-ly Obese - This is for the truly out of control chunkster. For this level of challenge you must commit to 6 or more chunksters OR three tomes of 750 pages or more. You know you want to.....go on and give in to your cravings.

My finished list of books:
1. Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah (Done)
2. Silent in the Grave by Deanna Raybourn (Done)
3. Silent in the Sanctuary by Deanna Raybourn (Done)
4. Silent on the Moor by Deanna Raybourn (Done)

5. Little Women by Louisa May Alcott (Done)
6. The Moon in the Mango Tree by Pamela Binnings Ewen (Done)

I really did enjoy this challenge and it encouraged me to read books a little longer than what I normally read. I liked all of them. All of them will stay with me in some way. Little Women is probably my favorite. I had only read the Great Illustrated Classics version and I loved the full length version. I have read several Louisa May Alcott books and I look forward to reading more of them. All in all this challenge was a success. I look forward to doing it again next year. :)

The Maud Hart Lovelace Reading Challenge Wrap Up Post

I loved this challenge and I am grateful to Sarah of A Library is a Hospital for the Mind for coming up with and hosting it.
I do not know how but these books have escaped my attention until now. I read the first book in the series Betsy Tacy right before the challenge started. Then during the challenge time I read the next three books in the Betsy Tacy series. I have the remaining six books in my TBR. They came in this week and I have not had time to read them but I look forward to finishing them soon. Thank you Sarah :)

RIP Reading Challenge Wrap Up Post

Today ends the R.I.P. Reading Challenge. I loved it and look forward to doing it again next year. Thank you to Carl at Stainless Steel Droppings for being a wonderful host. I am re posting a link to my original post.
http://abookloverforever.blogspot.com/2009/08/rip-iv-reading-challenge.html

Here is what I read (my absolute favorites are in bold) :
- Talking to the Dead by Bonnie Grove
- The Curse of the Pharaohs by Elizabeth Peters
- The Mummy Case by Elizabeth Peters
- Her Fearful Symmetry by Audrey Niffenegger
- Eye for an Eye by Irene Hannon
- Lonestar Secrets by Colleen Coble
- Ends of the Earth by Tim Downs
- Race to the Rescue by Dana Mentink
- The Secret of the Indigo Moon by G.P. Taylor
- Moving Target by Stephanie Newton
- Last Breath by Brandilyn and Amberly Collins
- The Blue Umbrella by Mike Mason
- eye of the god by Ariel Allison
- Plum Pudding Murder by Joanne Fluke

I really liked all of the books I read. I do not have reviews up for all of them. Her Fearful Symmetry was one of my favorites but I have no idea on how to review it. I do not want to give away the plot. It was better than The Time Traveler's Wife and perfect for the RIP challenge and way outside what I normally read. I was a little disappointed in Plum Pudding Murder by Joanne Fluke. Maybe because I anticpated it too much? I can't wait for the next Hannah Swenson mystery anyway. I have not finished Dracula. I will finish it before the end of the year just not tonight. Overall a great challenge. :)
