Dewey's 24 Hour Read a thon Intro Post and Update

I am participating in the April 2018 Dewey's 24 Hour Read a thon. It has been many years since I last did one. I know I will not make it all 24 hours since I value sleep a lot more than my younger years and I am going to play with my niece for awhile. lol I intend to read at least 8 hours.

24 Hour Read a Thon

I was supposed to participate in the 24 hour read a thon today. I went to work for part of the day. I am about to go to a family birthday party so I think I will have to do it in the Spring. I did not realize today was going to be busy when I signed up for it. I have participated many times and loved it. I hope everyone has fun that is doing it. :)

The Sunday Salon April 11, 2010 and 24 hour read a thon end meme

* So Saturday I participated in the 24 hour read at thon but I only made it 16 hours. Around 12:30 A. M. today I gave out.



* Friday was my 27th birthday and my sister and I went shopping and ate at the mall food court. We love the french fries at Steak Escape.

I don't feel any different for being officially another year older. Maybe a little depressed because I have not accomplished as much as I want too.



* Today(Sunday) I plan on doing laundry and cleaning up the house. I also have two review books for this week that have not been read yet. And I might be going to dinner with my Dad and sister. :)

I will probably participate as a reader although I think I would like trying to be a cheerleader too. They do a great job and are very encouraging. :)

Hour Two Mini Challenge

For this mini challenge, Miss Remmers wants to know what we've surrounded ourselves with to kick off the readathon:

" In this challenge we would like you to write a post on your blogs about your kick off strategy. What have you surrounded yourself with for these early hours of the challenge besides your books? Is there a coffee thermos, lucky book mark, snacks, pillow.... We want to know how you have prepared so you do not have to leave your cozy reading space (by the way - we'd like to know what is too.... (are you still in bed, a chair, the couch.....)"

Me: I am getting a very late start this year by two hours. I was supposed to start at 7 but could not make myself get out of bed. So 9 will my start time. I was in my bed but I am thinking a move to the couch might be a good idea soon. I have lots of little bags of chips, oranges, strawberry twizzlers, and frosted oatmeal cookies to eat. In my room are my piles of books on my dresser, desk, and bookshelves. :)

Its Almost Time Again for the 24 Hour Read a thon

Coming soon on April 10 is the 24 hour read a thon. It starts for me at 7:00 A. M. I have participated several times and enjoy it even though I do not last for 24 hours. I usually can make it around 14 before I fall asleep. lol

24 Hour Read-a-thon Coming Soon

The 24 hour Read-a-thon is a great bloggy event. I have participated several times including the one held last April. I usually do not last the whole 24 hours which is okay because the rules are lenient. The most important thing is to have fun. Visit the website for more details: http://24hourreadathon.com/

The Read-a-thon will start: October 24th at 5am Pacific (1pm GMT). For me that is 7:00 A. M. Good thing I am a morning person. lol

My list is huge because I like to have lots of choices. I took pictures but I can't upload them right now. In April I messed up and read a slow long book. This time I have a lot of 200-250 page books on the list too. :)

For snacks I have Cheddar and Sour Cream Lays Chips, Iced Oatmeal cookies, pecan twirls, and frozen cheese pizza.

My Last Two Hours

I read the first 98 pages in Back to Life by Kristin Billerbeck. My total page count for this read-a-thon is 1157.

Update Fourteen (maybe)

I finished Dangerous Heart by Tracey Bateman. My total page count so far is 1059. It was a very sweet book. It is the end to Westward Heart trilogy. I read books two and three. They were both good. It makes me imagine what our country used to look like out west in the 1850s. I remember looking at some beautiful paintings and pictures during a museum exhibit for American History.

I finished Less the Dead by Tim Downs. What a great book! I hope I don't suffer from Post Good Book Let Down for too long though. I have read 167 pages since my last update. Total pages read so far is 799.
