My Review:
I really liked this Christian YA novel. It dealt with a real life topic of boyfriend physical abuse. The author seemed to capture the situation and age group perfect. We discover pretty early in the book that RF or Real Life is a simpler to read/understand version of the Bible. There is a slight paranormal aspect as the RF book only lets you read what it wants. She opens it and it goes to a particular section. This is book two in the series but it is okay so far to read out of order because it is a loose series based on the RF book. I have read book one and it good also. Highly Recommended.

I wondered what you thought about this one and paged straight down to your review. I liked it but didn't love it. It frustrated me that it took so long for Bryn to figure out that she shouldn't put up with threats, but I did find it realistic in many ways and I loved the two guys in the surf shop.
My middle daughter is feeling a calling to Youth Ministry and has been looking for books that explore the subject of teen domestic violence in a Christian way. (one of her schoolmates was shot by her ex-boyfriend while she was sitting in her own driveway in her SUV - although she survived, she lost a portion of her jaw and is now a spokesperson and activist against teen domestic violence). This book looks like just the ticket for young girls who may easily find themselves in that same situation.
