Sunday Salon September 21, 2008
* Today I read a really great book that is going on my 2008 favorites list.
* It is Faking Grace by Tamara Leigh.
* My review will be posted tomorrow.
* I am still trying to finish The No 1 Ladies Detective Agency. Has anybody else have any issues with it?
* Next I am going to read The Encore Effect by Mark Sanborn(NF)
* Fall Into Reading Challenge Starts Tomorrow!
* This coming week is going to be Heck at work. We are moving our whole office to a new location plus I am having to answer the phones and we have crazy impatient patients although there are a few nice ones. It is very stressful. Lots of calls lots of messages. I cannot even do my own job at the same job.
* Hopefully I will still be able to read some. :)
* I hope everyone has a great reading week!

I had real problems with 'The No 1 Ladies Detective Agency' which I found thoroughly patronising. I've also got nowhere with his 'Scotland Street' series. I just don't like his writing style. However, I know you and I are very much in the minority.
I recall enjoying The No 1 Ladies Detective Agency, but there was something about it that kept me from reading on in the series. I just don't recall what. I've read a different series by the same author and I like them a lot better -- the really skinny books. Okay, Portuguese Irregular Verbs is one of them -- Dr. von Igelfeld is the protagonist. They're bizarre, but fun. I wouldn't read a bunch of his books in a row. "Patronising" seems like a good choice of wording, although it's been quite a while.
Forgot to say good luck on your move at work! I hope it goes smoothly. :)
