Welcome to the Adventure of Motherhood

Clutter? Chaos? Exhaustion got you down? You must be a mom. And you’re not alone. Perhaps you thought you had it all together…then your baby was born and your world was turned upside down. If new motherhood has you filled with doubt, guilt, and confusion, Trish Berg wants to offer companionship, hope, and help–plus a lot of humor along the way.
With practical advice and scriptural reminders, Berg presents two pillars of motherhood: Keep it simple and keep it biblical. Relax as you learn that every mom shares your stresses, challenges, and “Aagghh!” moments. In the midst of sleep deprivation and Cheerio dust, you’ll learn to savor the simple joy and privilege of mothering.

EXCERPT
Welcome to the Wild Side
The wild side of life. A place where sleep is elusive, adventure lies around every corner, and your nights are suddenly filled with endless parties and soirees. (That is, parties for two featuring milk and lullabies.)
Welcome to motherhood, a lifelong adventure that many enter into but few are truly prepared for: an exhausting, overwhelming escapade in diaper changing and snotty-nose wiping. A breast-feeding, bottle-feeding, twenty-four-hours-a-day on-demand job that will drain every ounce of energy you have—and then some. (Sounds glamorous, doesn’t it?)
So why do we take the plunge? Why do so many of us enter willingly into this alternate reality?
Plain and simple: love.

My Review: First I have no children and I am not married but I loved this book. I sat down to read and did not get up until I was through. Trish uses her own story and life to illustrate ways of coping with daily motherhood. The book is divided into short chapters full of relevant information. I am grateful to know what it is really like before I go there. I highly recommend this book to soon to be mothers, new mothers, and even long time mothers. I think everyone will find something in this book's pages for them. :)

I'm a long-time and new mom. There are 12 years between my 2 children (14 and 2). This sounds like a fun read. Short chapters are good!!
