Quick Synopsis of The Begotten:
Bergren's experience as a Christian historical fiction author (God Gave Us You) serves her well in this religious thriller, the first of a trilogy set in 14th-century Italy. Fragments of a mysterious long-lost letter written by Saint Paul are surfacing that speak of a group known as the Gifted, who will gather to fight the powers of encroaching darkness. With the Inquisition in full swing, Satan has sent his minion, the Sorcerer, to take over the world. Father Piero, a Dominican priest, has found the first of the Gifted, Lady Daria D'Angelo, who can bring the dead back to life. Daria uses her gift on the dying knight Gianni de Capezzana, who swears fealty to Daria and joins her in Siena, where the group gains strength and numbers. Soon, the Gifted and the forces of the underworld are locked in mortal combat. CBA readers will find much to cheer, but others will also enjoy this classic battle between good and evil.
Quick Synopsis of The Betrayed:

A religious thriller. An epic historical. Second in the trilogy. The first book in Lisa T. Bergren's Gifted trilogy, The Begotten, was hailed by Library Journal as "a full-bodied, absorbing tale that combines authentic historical detail with a universally appealing and gripping story that will have readers cheering." Now the breathtaking quest of the spiritually empowered Gifted ones-prophesized in a long-lost illuminated letter from the apostle Paul-continues as the healer, the priest, and the knight gather together to fight a battle in a profound new war. For the enemies of the Gifted are gathering, led by an evil lord who will do anything to destroy their unwavering faith.

This book is now available in hardcover and will also be a part of Target's Breakout Books display!
Brittanie: These books are extremely interesting to me because as a student at a private Christian College I had to take an Old Testament and New Testament course and it always interests me about how and what they chose to include in the offical Bible. Personally I do not think there are lost books because that would not fit God's character to me. Feel free to add your opinion. Anyway I am still reading the first and have not made my way to the second because of a huge test for school. When I finish I will post more on them ... until then what I have read is really good!

1 Corinthians tells us that Paul wrote other letters to the Corinthians, so we know there are lost letters (which could've been additional books). But I agree--what we have is all we need! God is good--and always complete in his task. But the theory of the lost letters gave me the biblical mystery I was seeking to launch a series about knights, ladies and true faith. Hope you enjoy them! And thank you for telling your readers about them.

Love,
