Loved it. Loved it. Loved it. Have read all of Cami's books but Blog This is on the top of my list. Read it twice and enjoyed it just as much the second time. Just when you think you know what is going to happen you're led into a different direction. Had a hard time putting the book down and was anxious to see how it was going to end.

Poison Me by Cami Checketts (Review)

Jake Merrill was raised by his grandmother, Ruby, and her hilarious friends. After a suspicious death at the retirement home where Ruby lives, she enlists Jake and Chanel, the beautiful activities director, to help her find the killer.

But secrets Ruby has kept for decades threaten her family and the man she’s always loved but could never have. Chanel’s unstable ex-boyfriend, a presumably dead relative, and vicious criminals add to the confusion. Time is running out as Jake, Chanel, and Ruby desperately search for clues to solve the murders and fight to save those they love.

My Review:

I enjoyed reading this cozy mystery. The characters had me laughing out loud. I liked how the elderly characters still had action in them and the antics were believable. The only downside for me was the mystery and how it did not really develop until the very end of the book. I never saw the twist for sure which was great! I was drawn in from the first page. I look forward to reading another book by this author. :)

My Review:

I really enjoyed reading this romantic suspense book. This is my first book by this author and I will be reading more. It held my attention and the characters were well developed. There were also some funny things in it too like Cassidy's nicknames for other characters like hot redhead for Elizabeth and Dr. Tattoo. There was definite chemistry between Cassidy and the two male love interests and the author kept you guessing on whether either one of them turns out to be one of the bad guys. You will have to read the book to find out. The ending was okay. I am glad she is writing a sequel write now to hopefully wrap things up better. Recommended. :)

Cami Checketts is married and the proud mother of four future WWF champions. Sometimes between being a human horse, cleaning up magic potions, and reading Bernstein Bears, she gets the chance to write fiction.
