My Review:

This is a heart touching historical. I felt horrible for Lydia at the abuse she suffered/s from her husband and stepchildren. Only one of the stepchildren shows promise of reforming and I hope book two focuses on her. I am glad this is a series because I want to know more of what happens to these characters. The plot and characters captured my attention and held it. Recommended especially for fans of Christian historical fiction.

My Review:

I enjoyed this historical romance novel. I read it in one afternoon. It is book two in a series. The first book focused more on Gwen Gallatin's story (A Promise to Believe In) while this one focused more on Bethany/Beth's story. The character's struggles and faith are woven into the story. There is also some suspense/intrigue in the book particularly regarding the way their father died which continues from book one. I read book one and I think it should be read in order as the characters are the same and some of the situations continue. I can't wait to read book three, Lacy's story, and see where the plot goes.
