I’m nuts about all things coffee, I’m crazy about all things pink and girly, and I love, love, love the Food Network! I’m married to my best friend and the most amazing guy ever, Jon. He is amiable toward coffee, does not like anything pink or girly and tolerates the Food Network. So, we make a good match! In July 2010, we became parents to one of the funniest, cutest, sweetest little guys in the whole world (and nope, we aren’t biased at all!), our Nater-Tot, who is legally known as Nathan. Most days, I’m cleaning up messes, making goofy faces, trying to fit some writing in, and just LOVING the life that God has given me!

ABOUT THE BOOK

Despite her valiant efforts, Paige Alder seems stuck in chaos. Her new job as youth intern keeps her hopping from coffee shop to coffee shop all summer long, but at least she’s loving the one-on-one time she gets to spend with the girls. The unfortunate side-effect is that now, four weeks of laundry fills her apartment. Plus, she barely has time to help her sister and best friend with their weddings! And even worse? Something is definitely wrong between her and Tyler. She apologized for what he thought he saw happen with Luke. Can’t they move past it? Or could there be something he’s not telling her—something that could change everything?

My Review:

I loved this book. I have enjoyed reading the whole Paige Alder series. This is book three and I recommend reading them in order to get the full story. It is filled with this author's trademark humor. The characters and plot are well written and engaging. Paige is a normal twenty something year old and even though I am now 31 I could still relate some to her. I think teens would really enjoy all of Erynn Mangum's books too. This is the conclusion to the Paige Alder series unfortunately. I would love to see another book in it. In this book Paige is still learning about balance and relationships and faith. There are some good spiritual lessons without being preachy. Highly recommended. :)

Will he be able to help Paige get her priorities on track?

My Review:
I have loved every book I read of this author's. I have read all of the paper copies and one of the Amazon ebook short stories. This book starts a new series featuring Paige Alder. She is in her twenties and single and a Christian. She is a secretary instead of a counselor at the adoption agency she works at. She is a yes person so she is always over busy between church, work, and her best friend Layla. Its pretty bad when you are frequently eating a cheese stick for dinner and live on coffee from Starbucks. The author's trademark humor comes through in this book with interesting new characters and plot. I really felt for Paige and longed for her to start saying no instead of yes so she could have a more balanced life. Then Mr. Tyler comes into the picture. I love the subtle way the relationship develops between Paige and Tyler. He is trying to be a good influence on her and get her to slow down. All of the characters were well developed. I did not like the cliff hanger at the end though. I would have liked more conclusion in certain areas. Thankfully it is the first book in a series. I can't wait until October so I can read more! Highly Recommended. Teens and young adults even maybe adults will enjoy this book.  :)

My Review:

I loved this book. I can't believe this series is over. Double Shot is the third book in the Maya Davis series. It can stand alone but I recommend the entire series. I love all of this author's books. She has a great sense of humor which is trademark in all her books. There are a lot of humorous lines in the book which had me laughing. Although it can be classified as Christian Chick Lit there are spiritual lessons in the book like trusting God no matter what happens and learning to accept His will for our lives in it. Maya and Jack are about to get married but life is never that easy. The hurdles they face are ones we might face too like job changes. The characters literally come off the page and are real to us.  The characters and plot are interesting and unique. If you have read the whole series this book ties everything up nicely. I can't wait to read the next Erynn Mangum book. Highly recommended. :)

My Review:
I loved this book. It is the second in the Maya Davis series. I recommend reading them in order as comments will make more sense in the book plus the first book is good also. This is a great Christian chick lit book. This book will mostly appeal to young adults but other ages will like it too. It held my attention from the beginning and I did not want to put it down. It is definitely Christian. Maya reads her bible before she goes to bed and often she expresses her thoughts. Her roommate and fiance, and her boyfriend are all Christians. The book is not overdone or preachy. It is natural. The characters and plot are unique, interesting, and believable. This author is known for the humor in her books and there were plenty of lol moments in this book. I love how the characters and relationships evolve in this book and I can't wait to read the next book in the series. Thankfully I only have to wait until October. This is going on my keeper shelf next to all of this author's other books and on my favorites list for the year. Highly Recommended. :)

Brittanie:

I lovved this book. I thought it was cute and funny. I had many laugh out loud moments. There were many references to Jane Austen and Emma in this book. They were great. She has a def. movie obsession. To me Lauren's extreme coffee obsession and chocolate is a little over the top. I do not drink coffee but I do love chocolate and if we eat like Lauren we will all be at least 400 lbs. Even with that this book was great. I ordered the sequel as soon as I finished it. I have read it so review coming soon on that one. I highly recommend this cute chick lit series.
